Jon Jones will get his day in court.. just not quite yet.
The UFC light heavyweight champion, who tarnished his “good boy” image by driving drunk, was scheduled to be sentenced for the DWI, which he plead guilty to, later this month. The sentencing will now take place on July 3rd.
Jones had his license suspended, and was ordered to undergo an alcohol abuse and dependency evaluation following his guilty plea. The 24 year old is also required to install ignition interlock devices in his vehicles, pay restitution for damage, and attend a victim-impact class as part of his plea deal.
It is expected that Jones will be sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge and fined $1,500 as part of the deal he struck with the Broome County (N.Y.) District Attorney’s Office.
