That’s gotta hurt.

Originally scheduled to undergo surgery for a suspected hernia received during his UFC on FX 3 headlining bout against Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall, which served as the second semifinal bout of the UFC flyweight tournament, “Mighty Mouse” has been reassessed, and the outlook is a little better.

Not to say his injury doesn’t suck.

Johnson, who will face Joseph Benavidez to determine the first ever UFC 125 pound champion, suffered severe swelling in his groin immediately after the June 8th bout with McCall. Although it was originally diagnosed as a hernia, which would have required surgery to repair, it turns out it was just some unfortunate swelling, and the flyweight contender only requires some anti-inflammatory medication and some rest.

Johnson, however, is still awaiting x-ray results on his right hand, which he believes he re-injured during the bout. So a date for the first ever flyweight title bout cannot be determined just yet.
