Two lightweights on the verge of breaking into the upper echelon of the division are going to scrap.
UFC officials announced on Monday afternoon that undefeated submission specialist Paul Sass will take on the resurging Matt Wiman when the UFC sets its sights on Nottingham, England in September.
Paul Sass most recently defeated the always troublesome Jacob Volkmann with his oft-used triangle choke back at UFC 146, and without question will look for his 13th submission in 14 fights.
Wiman defeated Mac Danzig back in October at UFC on Versus 6, and was recently scheduled to fight Mark Bocek, before an injury forced him to withdraw from the UFC 145 bout. Wiman is 4-1 in his past five fights.
The UFC’s first trip to Nottingham takes place September 29th, and it’s not known at this time whether this bout will be placed on the main card, or the preliminary card.
