Don’t call it a comeback, because the injury bug has been here for years.
Despite being pencilled in to face French striker Cheick Kongo at next month’s UFC 149, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has been forced to withdraw from the event. His withdrawal was prompted by his right arm, which was broken by recent title challenger Frank Mir, not being fully healed.
Originally reported by Sherdog.com, Jackson/Winkeljohn fighter Shawn Jordan, who successfully made the jump from Strikeforce back in March, has stepped up on short notice. Jordan now faces his toughest challenge to date, as he faces Kongo on the pay-per-view portion of the Calgary card.
