At a new weight, and feeling reinvigorated, “The Mexicutioner” is back and ready to bust some heads.
Following a 1-4 slump that ended with his a knockout loss to Lavar Johnson and subsequent release, Joey Beltran has re-signed with the UFC, and will now make his promotional debut as a light heavyweight. Beltran looks to pick up his second consecutive victory, and his second at 205 pounds, as he looks to build off of an April win over Anton Talamante at a C3 Fights events.
Welcoming him back to the octagon is New Zealand’s James Te Huna, who looks to spoil Beltran’s return, and pick up his ninth win in ten bouts. Te Huna was originally set to face Brandon Vera, but Vera was pulled from the card in favor of a main event spot opposite Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC on FOX 4.
The bout takes place at UFC on FUEL TV 4, which takes place July 11 at HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
